We serve clients internationally, including in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the European Union. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

  1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information you give us directly. When you complete a contact form on our website, submit a lead form on Facebook or Instagram, message us on WhatsApp, or email or call us, we may collect: your name, your email address, your phone number, your wedding or event date, your venue, resort or location, how you heard about our services, the type of session you are interested in, and any other information you choose to include in your message.


If you go on to book us, we will additionally collect information necessary to deliver the service and fulfil our contract with you, which may include billing details, a mailing address, a timeline or schedule for your event, and contact details for other vendors or members of your wedding party that you choose to share with us.


Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, certain information is collected automatically through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, browser type and device information, the pages you view and how long you spend on them, and the website or advertisement that referred you to us. Our website is hosted on the Pixieset platform, which collects standard technical and analytics data as part of providing that service.


Advertising and analytics technologies. We use the Meta Pixel (a tracking technology provided by Meta Platforms, Inc., which operates Facebook and Instagram) on our website. The Meta Pixel allows us to understand which advertisements bring visitors to our site, measure how well our advertising performs, and show relevant advertisements to people who have visited our website or engaged with our social media accounts. We may also use the Meta Conversions API, which sends similar information to Meta directly from our server rather than from your browser.


If you submit a lead form directly on Facebook or Instagram, Meta collects that information and shares it with us. Meta's own handling of your information is governed by Meta's Privacy Policy, available at facebook.com/privacy/policy.


We may create advertising audiences by uploading contact information (such as email addresses) to Meta in a hashed, non-readable format, so that we can show advertisements to existing contacts or to people with similar characteristics. Meta does not receive readable copies of these email addresses.


  1. PHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEO

Photography and videography are our services, so images and footage of you are inherently personal information.


We create, edit, and store photographs and video of our clients and of people present at events we photograph. Where we wish to use images of you for our portfolio, website, social media, advertising, competition entries, or promotional materials, this is addressed in the contract you sign with us. If you do not want your images used publicly, tell us in writing and we will honour that. You can withdraw permission for future promotional use at any time by emailing us, although we may not be able to recall material that has already been printed or published by third parties.


Client galleries are delivered through Pixieset, which stores and processes images on our behalf. Galleries may be password protected at your request.


  1. WHY WE USE YOUR INFORMATION AND OUR LEGAL BASIS

We use your information to respond to your enquiry and provide a quotation; discuss and plan your wedding, event, or session; deliver the photography and videography services you have booked; take payment and keep accounting records; send you information about our services, offers, or availability where you have asked to receive it or where you are an existing client; display our work in our portfolio and marketing, subject to section 3 above; measure and improve the effectiveness of our advertising; and meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations.


Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (delivering services you have booked and responding to your enquiry), legitimate interests (promoting our business, showing our portfolio, and understanding how our advertising performs, balanced against your rights), consent (non-essential cookies, advertising technologies, and marketing emails, which you may withdraw at any time), and legal obligation (retaining financial records).


We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.


  1. WHO WE SHARE INFORMATION WITH

We share information only with service providers who help us operate our business, and only to the extent needed. These include Pixieset (website hosting and client gallery delivery); Meta Platforms, Inc. (advertising, lead forms, and measurement); Google (email and, where used, website analytics); payment processors (to take and record payment); cloud storage and backup providers (to store and protect your images); and second shooters, videographers, and editors working with us on your event, who are required to keep your information confidential.


We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.


Because we are based in Jamaica and our service providers operate internationally, your information will be transferred outside your home country, including to the United States. Jamaica is not the subject of an adequacy decision by the UK or EU authorities. Where we transfer personal data from the UK or EU, we rely on appropriate safeguards including standard contractual clauses with our providers, or on the transfer being necessary for the performance of our contract with you.


  1. HOW LONG WE KEEP INFORMATION

Enquiries that do not result in a booking: up to 3 years, so we can follow up and recognise you if you return. Client contact and contract records: 7 years after your event, to meet accounting and legal requirements. Photographs and video: we archive client images indefinitely unless you ask us to delete them, so that you can request replacements or reprints in the future. Delivered online galleries typically remain accessible for a limited period stated in your contract. Website and advertising analytics data: as governed by the retention settings of Meta and our other providers.


  1. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you; correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete; delete your information, subject to our legal obligations and any ongoing contract; object to or restrict how we use your information; withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent; receive a copy of information you gave us in a portable format; opt out of marketing communications at any time and without giving a reason; and complain to a data protection authority.


If you are in the UK, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. If you are in the EU, you may complain to your national supervisory authority. If you are in Canada, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) applies to our handling of your information, and you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca. If you are in the United States, residents of certain states including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others have additional rights, including the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information.

Our services are directed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 through our website or advertising. We do photograph children at weddings and family sessions at the request of, and with the permission of, their parents or guardians. If you believe a child has given us information without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it.


  1. SECURITY

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including password protection, encrypted storage where available, limited access to client data, and backups of client images. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with the date it was last updated. Where changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to notify current clients directly.
